SIGHTS & BITES TOUR
Take in the major attractions in the city, include a bistro lunch at a waterfront restaurant and add plenty of local knowledge from your host!

This is our signature tour for those who want it all - sightseeing, views, history, local knowledge and then want to wrap the whole thing in good food and coffee! Wellington is a compact city in a sublime harbour setting - take advantage of this in our all-encompassing tour.

Sights & Bites is an environmentally-friendly tour using Wellington's public services, including bus, cable car and some walking. Wellington is blessed with a comprehensive transport network, and it is easily the best way to see the real Wellington. Wild About Wellington is the only tour company providing tours using public transport.

Let us show you the real Wellington!

Fact: Wellington is the only city in Australasia still using trolley buses.

We always like to get the flavour of a city new to us and this tour proved the ideal way to achieve it! Jennifer is full of life and her introduction to Wellington was comprehensive, eclectic and fun. Group size is usually 6 or less, we were lucky to have a tour just for the two of us! We explored the city on foot and certainly discovered places we wouldn't have done otherwise.

For those who want to know more...

Our tour begins at 9.45am, meeting at a very central Wellington location.

The first part of our tour takes us around the central city and waterfront, taking in Wellington's top sights and attractions which make it such a unique destination, such as Parliament Buildings and the downtown Lambton Quarter.

You'll experience a taste of Te Papa, our national museum, with your tour host introducing you to a number of key exhibits. We'll ensure you leave with information on self-guided tours of Te Papa to enjoy at your leisure, should you wish to return.

Wellington is the cafe capital of New Zealand and we ensure you taste the best at a leading café located in the theatre district of the Wellington. Hear the story of how Lord of the Rings turned Wellington into "Wellywood", and you'll see where Wellington took centre stage at the world premiere of the movie Return of the King.

No journey to Wellington is complete with a trip on the unique Cable Car where we view the city's unique features from on high. A great photo opportunity! By now it is time to enjoy a New Zealand themed bistro lunch at a restaurant on the waterfront.

Many thanks to you and Mark for taking the time to show us the real Wellington. It really makes a place become more relevant when seen through the eyes of the locals. Also, thank you for the lovely lunch. That was very nice. Barbara and I really appreciated the sights that you were able to show us. You certainly have provided an incentive to come back someday and stay a little longer.
