Yes! We're certified carbon neutral and the first tourism company in Wellington to gain that status
It is all part of our plan for social responsibility which includes carbon reduction and general sustainability across all of our practices. It sits so well with our efforts to be a great corporate citizen of the city, and it links to the giving back we do with the Wellington City Mission's soup kitchen - our chosen charity.

Wild About Wellington Certified Carbon Neutral
Local tour company Wild About Wellington has chalked up a first – becoming the first Wellington tour company to gain certified carbon neutral status.
Wild About Wellington is run by Jennifer Looman, and offers a variety of small groups tours that take in the sights and experiences of Wellington. The company started in 2005, and incorporates public transport and walking in all its tours.
To become certified carbon neutral, Wild About Wellington underwent a rigorous assessment from the carbon action company GreenlandNZ, plus independent verification of emissions information from a chartered accountant.
“It did take considerable time and energy to go through power use information, transportation records and waste related information, but the measurable results are well worth it; the business will save so much more from now on,” says Jennifer.
The process took into account the use of transport, energy usage and waste. With the carbon footprint assessed, carbon credits from approved local projects were retired to offset the outcome.
With full certification from GreenlandNZ, Wild About Wellington will be taking the message out to visitors to Wellington and encouraging the uptake by others in the industry.
“I hope my move will inspire others in the industry to consider how they manage their own sustainable business practices,” says Jennifer.
