Jennifer Looman founded Wild About Wellington in November 2005 after a 20 year career in information technology.

Why? Because it is her dream job to show people her city, her way.

With a flair for languages, she guides visitors in English or French, and shows them the best of the city. Visitors especially enjoy the unique and quirky features of Wellington, which they won't find in guide books. Jennifer is well known in the city, so you are never short of friends to meet along the way!

Jennifer loves the city and is certainly passionate about her work. She doesn't employ others to run her standard tours so all guests receive the same level of experience, vibrancy and professionalism. It's not about trying to sell more spaces, it is about delivering a personalised tour giving guests a memorable experience of Wellington.

Jennifer is married to Mr Wild (he adds the 'Wild' to the company name) and they have two children, Scarlett and Maxim.

Wild About Wellington - The Team
Jennifer runs almost all the tours, but she can't always do it alone. Our Boutique Beer Tastings and Tours are superbly run by Neil Miller, our leading beer expert, or one of our other hand-picked beer experts.

For large groups, such as conference groups, she uses additional assistance on occasion, but chooses only guides who have been with her a long time, such as her multi-lingual translators. These guides are very familiar with her tours and have worked alongside Jennifer for a number of years.

Our Charity - Suzanne Aubert Compassion Centre
Since the inception of Wild About Wellington, the Suzanne Aubert Compassion Centre has been the company charity.

The Compassion Centre has a number of roles including the Soup Kitchen which nourishes many of the city's homeless and marginalised. Jennifer believes Wellington should be a good city for all and regularly gives donations of food and cash to support the Centre.

Certified Carbon Neutral
Yes! Wild About Wellington is certified carbon neutral and the first tourism company in Wellington to gain that status in 2008.

It is all part of the company plan for social responsibility which includes carbon reduction and general sustainability across all practices. It sits within their charter to be a good corporate citizen of the city.
